Tempered and Heat Strengthened Glass
Tempered glass (also known as toughened glass) falls under the umbrella of safety glass. The glass is worked to measure before it’s tempered and once the glass is tempered its physically and thermally stronger than regular glass, up to five times stronger, and can resist to higher temperature then normal glass.
Once broken, Tempered glass transforms into small granular chunks, instead of splintering into jagged shards like normal glass does. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury. Toughened glass is one of the safety glass that the EU Building regulations recommends especially when it comes to commercial places and houses.
Tempered glass can practically be used when strength and safety are important considerations, normally like insulating glass, glass facades, table tops, glass doors, glass flooring, splash backs, and any other application that would become dangerous in the event of human impact.
Paul Tonna son of Santu Ltd is proud to be the first local company to start fabricating Tempered glass and the advantage of it is that the clients needs are well satisfied and in short time of period with high European standards.
